Engineer's day - 2020

National Engineers Day celebrated at St. Martin’s Engineering College on September 15th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. He is Popularly called as ‘Sir MV’. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya is the man behind India’s early infrastructure development, education, and social welfare. Chairman, Executive Director and Principal paid their tributes to Bharat Ratna M. Visvesvaraya on his birth anniversary and said, sir MV, is an inspiration for our talented and skilled engineers who contributed significantly in the development of the Nation.
In his speech chairman has focused on the physical health of the faculty members and advised all to cycle daily or else weekly to be a perfect Engineer fit to contribute and Executive Director stressed on the development All paid homage to Sir. M Visweswraya on the Engineer's Day.
In his speech Dr P. Santosh Kumar Patra reminded of the Indian architectural and monumental marvels like Konark sun temple and Jaganath temple in Odisha and Sir Visweswraya's contribution in making a modern India especially his beneficiation to Hyderabad in controlling floods and facilitating portable water others being the dams -Hirakud dam is one of those. Principal said that the Engineering fraternity is responsible for the country's growth and thanks all the members of the fraternity for choosing to be an Engineer and moreover a teacher. He also congratulated the faculty members for their efforts in the accreditation processor achievement NAAC A+ and UGC Autonomous status for 10 years, and also the funding St. Martin's receiving in the process and other accolades to the Institution.
